Bangalore is India's 5th largest city, with
about 5 million inhabitants.
Nowadays, it is known as the country's IT
capital, "the Silicon Valley of India". In the last decade, high-technology
companies have been set up and became successful in Bangalore, employing about a
third of India's 1 million IT professionals.
Bangalore is a very vibrant city; it's also
famous for its numerous pubs, being known as the Pub City.
Another attraction in Bangalore are the
public parks and gardens- the city is known as the "Garden City of India", as
well.
Bangalore is the largest city in the
southern state of Karnataka. The main languages spoken are mainly Kannada and
English but
others are also spoken.
Bangalore Airport is 13 km east of the City Station. It is also a stopover for
many international flights.
